adı o canada olan bu marşın orjinali fransızca olarak adolphe-basile routhier tarafından yazılmış, ingilizcesi için açılan tercüme yarışmasını da robert stanley weir kazanmış. bestesi ise calixa lavallee'e ait, kabul edilme yılı 1980.
