hemingway amcamızım ölümünden sorna basılan ve 3 farklı kitabın bir araya getirilmesiyle oluşan şahane eser. kitabın 3 farklı bölümünde de farklı anlatım teknikleri kullanmış, pek de güzel olmuş. hele üçüncü kısım tam anlamıyla muazzamdır.
az bilinir fakat şahsımca hemingway'in açık ara farkla en iyi kitabıdır! şiddetle tavsiye edilir.

bu romanın sonlarında şöyle bir paragraf var:

hemingway'ın en sıkı kitaplarından biri olduğunu düşünürüm. şöyle birkaç harika cümleyi buraya almakta beis görmüyorum:
''...köpekbalıkları geceleri hiç korkmazlardı, kendileri dışında her şey onlardan korkardı...
viski hakkında şöyle yazar papa: ''...sorunlarımız nasıl da çözümlüyor. kurşundan altınımızı bir çırpıda boka çeviren simyacı karışımı. iyi olmadı bu ama. kurşundan altınımızı çevirir boka çok daha iyi...''
konu da şöyle bişey:
dul bir ressam olan thomas hudson bimini adasında bir evde yaşamaktadır. yazı farklı iki kadından olan oğullarıyla geçirecektir. bundan sonrası oğullarıyla olan balık tutma işleri, hayat üzerine erkekçe diyaloglar, bol bol içilen buz gibi içkiler, hudson un arkadaşı roger da bir yazardır. hemingway'ı kendisi. hudson iyi bir baba olmaya çalışır. yaz biter ve çocuklar da gider. adam mutsuz olur tabii.sonra boktan bir haber alır. iki oğlu ve anaları trafik kazasında ölmüştür.

hemingway'in ölümünden sonra basılan şahane romanıdır. türkçe baskısının kapağında yeşil üstüne tekne, birbirine sarılan kadın erkek çizilmiş arkasında da romantik kitap, vay be böylesi görülmedi felan denmiştir.hani hemingway'in hastası olmasam elimi sürmem o kapağa.
bir de bende bantam booksbaskısı var. üzerinde "the triumphant, romantic bestseller by the author of a farewell to arms" yazar. arkasında da hemingway'in kitapları sıralanmış en sonunda da "the greatest of them all!" ibaresi eklenmiş. o baskı bizimkinden de beter yani. herifler ilan tablosu gibi basmışlar. neyse kitap şahanedir. ıvır zıvır değildir.
mary hemingway'in kitabın başında bir notu vardır: charles scribner, jr'la beraber kitap üzerinde çalıştığını, düzeltisini yaptıklarını bir iki yerini kestiklerini ama hiçbir şey eklemediklerini kitabın ernest'in olduğunu filan açıklar.
bi de thomas hudson abimiz vardır kitapta; "i don't have to be proud of it. i only have to do it well," der bi yerlerde. ben bu kitabı her sene bi kere okurum, iyi gelir.
