der er et yndigt land (there is a lovely land) adlı bu marş, ilk defa 1844'te birçok danimarkalı'nın bir araya geldiği bir toplantıda çalınır ve söylenir. o kadar popüler olur ki aynı yıl içinde yönetim tarafından milli marş olarak kabul edilir. sözlerini adam gottlob oehlenschläger yazmış, bestesini ise hans ernst krøyer yapmıştır. bir de 1780'den beri yürürlükte olan danimarka kraliyet marşı vardır, ikisi de aynı önemde ve değerdedir.
